It is of increasing interest to general psychiatrists, who although recognizing both disorders, may be frustrated in their management of them, especially if trying to treat these cases without the benefit of a multidisciplinary team.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a highly prevalent cardiovascular disease in clinics, which is one of the major causes of mortality. Depression is a kind of psychiatric disorder that is closely related to emotional disorder. It has been consistently reported that there is a strong association between CHD and comorbid depression.Depression is one of the major risk factors for the development, progression and prognosis of coronary heart disease (CHD). Patients with depression and CHD have high mortality and morbidity. Conventional antidepressant therapies achieve limited success in CHD patients. epression is one of the highest risk factors for the development, progression and prognosis of CHD.
